Shahid Abbas "Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Promotes Inter-faith Brotherhood"

 

We visited the Sts. Peter Paul Cathedral with the spirit of Inter- faith Brotherhood last November 16, 2022. The cathedral is playing a significant role in promoting harmony.The Management consists of:

St. Peter & Paul Cathedral faisalabad.

Sir Nadeem Bashir ( Executive secretary of CBE).

Sir Rehan Saroya (as a teacher educator in CBE).

Nimra Kanwal ( as a teacher educator in CBE).

Nosheen Nasir ( accountant of CBE).

Sr. Magdalena Ishaq ( superior of Daughters of St. Paul's community).

The Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul is the main church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Faisalabad, Punjab Pakistan and is under the leadership of His Excellency Bishop Indrias Rehmat.

The foundation of the Cathedral was laid in 1965 and the building was completed in 1969. It's playing a key role to promote love and peace among the different schools of thoughts.

A good well gesture visit was made to the main Cathedral. For that purpose, we went there by the help of Manoorma and her brother Istiaq Akash. I was accompanied by Professor Rashid Manhood. We reached there at 11:30 P M and were received with a warm welcome by Mr. Rehan Saroya. He introduced to us the different parts of the church. He also informed us about the religious rituals being held and ceremonies as well. After that, we were taken to the book section. We were gifted with candles (as signs of love and peace). They even gave us Christmas gifts. They said "Your visit will play an important role in the promotion of inter-faith harmony. They also made us visit the CBE . And Sir Nadeem Bashir discussed with us about the educational systems.We thanked them for their great response and warm hospitality.

We later learned that Sir Nadeem Bashir is also a poet. Because of some reasons, he stopped composing poetry. I requested him to start again. He recited some verses in Urdu and Punjabi. I asked him to write a poem about Christmas. He said that he would compose in Urdu. Soon, we will set some poetry readings with him.
